👀 Could Eddie be eying up a long awaited new right-winger?

🗓️ ON THIS DAY

On This Day in 1978 Newcastle United faced Sunderland in the 112th Tyne-Wear Derby at Roker Park. Peter Withe gave Newcastle the lead before halftime, but Sunderland’s Roy Greenwood equalized in the second half, resulting in a 1-1 draw.

📢 THE BIG STORY

Big Plans on the Horizon for St James’ - here’s what we know so far 🛠️

More rumours have been floating around about the clubs plans for a massive redevelopment of St James' Park. Here's what we know so far:

  • ⬆️ Potential capacity increase to 65,000-70,000 seats.

  • 💰 Estimated cost could be as high as £1 billion.

  • 🏟️ The project could involve moving the stadium slightly to create more space around the Grade A-listed buildings.

  • 📅 The club is targeting early 2025 to complete the next essential tasks in the planning process.

While nothing is set in stone, it's clear that our ownership group has big (and ambitious) plans for the future of the stadium.

We'll be eagerly awaiting more details in the coming months, with hope for a decision to be announced early next year.

🤔 WHO AM I?

“I wore the number 10 shirt with pride and was known for my unique playing style and legendary partnership with Andy Cole. I enjoyed success in 2 stints for the club in the 80s and 90s.”

📈 THE ANALYSIS

4 Things You Might Have Missed from the International Break

With 12 Magpies representing their countries over the last week, here’s a few things you might have missed 👇

  • 🎩 Bruno to the Rescue: After being dropped from the starting 11, Guimarães proved his worth with a crucial 89’ assist in Brazil's match against Chile to win the game 2-1.

  • 👨🏼‍💼 Eddie Clarifies his England Stance: Amid ongoing speculation regarding the England position, Eddie Howe has made his intentions clear. Once again emphasizing his commitment to the Magpies, stating that his focus remains solely on the club.

  • 🩼 Update on Trippier: After picking up a hamstring injury in last weeks Everton game, Trippier is unlikely to be available for the Brighton match, with a date for his return currently unknown.

  •  Lewis Hall Shines for the U21s: Lewis Hall made an impact with a standout performance for the England U21s in their 2-1 win over Ukraine.

Thankfully we seem to have come out of the break unscathed, with hope of an Isak return to St James’ this Saturday against Brighton 🤞
