In today’s NUFC Pitch Notes 👇
🚀 How Lewis Hall has become one of the best performing right-backs in the Premier League.

🎙️ How you can watch Joelinton's mic'd up training session from Saudi.
🗓️ ON THIS DAY
On this day in 2004, Newcastle United secured a 2-0 victory over Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park, with late goals from Craig Bellamy and Patrick Kluivert sealing the win in the final 10 minutes. We finished the season in 14th place but managed to reach the semi-finals of the FA Cup.
📣 THE MAIN STORY
The Rise of Lewis Hall: From Newcastle's Bench to England's Starting XI 🚀
What a time Lewis Hall is having! At only 20-year-old our young left-back made his England debut last week, becoming the youngest magpie in 120 years to do so!
And he looked right at home - his composure on the ball and confidence in defence was a testament to how far he’s come over the last year.
"There's not many left-backs but I'm just trying to take everything game by game and keep trying to play well for England whenever I get the opportunity and keep playing well for Newcastle whenever I'm playing as well. If I continue to do that then I'll be in a good position."
Lewis Hall
After a initially struggling for game time at Newcastle, he’s now firmly cemented his place in the starting XI - there’s a good argument to be made that he’s been our best player!
He’s not only been solid defensively - his ability to pick out key passes and create chances in the final third has been a pleasure to watch.
Alongside Livramento, he’s been a key part of a defence that has conceded only 11 goals this season – the third-fewest in the league.
This partnership is starting to feel like one of the most solid full-back pairings in the Premier League, and they complement each other perfectly.
Looking at the way they’re playing, it’s hard not to think that Chelsea might be kicking themselves for letting these two go.
The added confidence and consistency he’s found at Newcastle are clear, and now that he’s in the England squad, it feels like just the beginning for him.
The question now is, how far can he go? Hall’s incredible rise in just a short space of time is a testament to his work ethic and determination.
As Hall continues to grow and adapt, it's clear that he has the potential to become one of the Premier League’s top left-backs and a fixture in the England setup for years to come.
🤔 WHO AM I?
“With almost 200 appearances, I was Newcastle first-choice left-back for much of the 2010s, known for my work rate and tough tackling. I played a key role in helping the club win the our return to the Premier League in 2017, only leaving the club this season.”
